Autumn Footprints First Guided Walk

Length & Grading: 3 mile, easy.

Come to the first walk of this excellent Walking Festival with 30 walks in 16 days. The walks start at 10.30am outside the Visitor Centre. This 3 mile circular walk will travel include snippets of history and wildlife of the park. (1-5 stiles).

In the Footsteps of the Pentrich Rebels of 1817 (Swanwick)

Length & Grading: 4.5 miles, moderate.

The walk follows in the footsteps of the rebels in 1817 and visits historical sites from the time. Swanwick was reputed to be a centre of Luddite activity. We will follow the route taken by the men from Swanwick and Alfreton as they marched towards Codnor. We will pass the old Swanwick Station, Brittain's Pit, and go over the Cromford Canal tunnel. (10-15 stiles). Street parking available on The Green and The Broadway close to St Andrew’s Church.
