Shardlow Port, Revolution in Transport


Length & Grading: 8 miles, Moderate.


Join the Long Eaton Rambling Club for a circular generally level walk around Long Eaton and Shardlow. There will be a stop at café/pub for you to purchase refreshment or bring a packed lunch with you. (1- 5 stiles). Children are welcome but please be aware of the distance and terrain of this walk.

Heanor & its Surroundings


Length & Grading: 7 miles, Moderate.


Accompany the local history society for a walk starting in the town centre, but also taking in parts of Langley Mill, Shipley and Marlpool. All sorts of history (not all of it industrial!) to see and learn along the way. More road walking than usual, but still mainly off road, including some lesser-known paths. (6-10 stiles). Children are welcome but please be aware of the distance and terrain of this walk.

In the Footsteps of the Pentrich Rebels of 1817: (Alfreton)


Length & Grading: 3 miles, Easy.


This walk follows in the footsteps of the rebels in 1817, visiting places associated with the Rising. The walk combines an urban walk on pavements, taking us into Alfreton’s historic centre, and along paths in Alfreton Park. (No stiles). On road parking is possible in the streets behind the Library/Masonic Hall.
