Launch and Guided Walk


Length & Grading: 3 miles, Easy.


Come to the launch of this excellent Walking Festival with 43 walks in 16 days. There is a guided walk after the launch which starts at 10.30am outside the Visitor Centre. This 3 mile circular walk will include some history of the park. (1-5 stiles).


Starting Point: Shipley Country Park Visitor Centre, Slack Lane, Heanor DE75 7GX. Grid Ref: SK 431 452


Start Time: 10am launch, 10.30am walk. Finish: 1pm.


Booking: Booking is recommended for all the walks and essential for some. You can just turn up if you prefer or have not made a reservation, but we cannot guarantee being able to take you if you do not book in advance.

Constitution Hill & Hopwell Hall


Length & Grading: 6 miles, Moderate.


Join Erewash Ramblers on this 6 mile walk over undulating countryside, (two gentle climbs, no steep hills) to the Hopwell Hall area. Bring a packed lunch as we will stop for a half hour lunch. (10 stiles). Children are welcome but please be aware of the distance and terrain of this walk.


Starting Point: Car Park behind Draycott Fish and Chip Shop, Derby Road Draycott DE72 3NJ. Grid Ref: SK 442 333.


Start Time: 10.30am. Finish: 2.30pm.

Nordic Walking Taster Session


Length & Grading: 1 mile, Easy.


Find out how Nordic Walking turns a walk into a workout and burns 20% more calories than ordinary walking. During this session you’ll get the chance to learn the original technique from one of the UK’s most experienced instructors.


Starting Point: Shipley Country Park Visitor Centre, Slack Lane, Heanor DE75 7GX. Grid Ref: SK 431 452. Meet in the first car park as you enter the park.


Start Time: 11.30am. Finish: 12.30pm.
